The Birches is a pine and cedar two-level hermitage. It got its name because it looks out over a beautiful stand of birch trees. It is a lovely hermitage for one or two people.
Downstairs, the bay window faces due east. From here you can see the sun's red fire rise through the trees at early dawn
and in the evening, you can follow the golden path of the moon's rising in the
night sky.
A fully screened porch keeps the bugs at bay. There is a fully equipped kitchenette, a sitting area, and a bathroom with a
shower. There is also a wonderful wood-burning stove with plenty of wood just outside.
Upstairs, in the open loft, are two single beds and a rocking chair. Charm is added to the sleeping area by three, small, triangular shaped skylight
windows and a west facing window opening out onto a large maple tree. There is electricity and thermostat regulated heat.
Outside, under the maple tree, is a picnic table for two.
